Man Found Dead In Car On Shoulder Of Long Island Expressway

An investigation is underway after a man was found dead in broad daylight on the Long Island Expressway.

Suffolk County Police Highway Patrol officers responded to a parked vehicle in Hauppauge on the eastbound shoulder near Route 111 on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at about 1:15 p.m.

Officers discovered a body in the front seat of a 2019 Jeep.

Following an investigation by Fourth Squad detectives, the body was identified as Luis Gonzalez, age 62.

Gonzalez, who police say was undomiciled, was taken to the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
